GMAT Focus Edition — the short version
The GMAT Focus Edition is a 2-hour-15-minute computer-adaptive test for business school admission, scored from 205 to 805. It has three equally weighted sections — Quantitative Reasoning (21 questions, 45 minutes), Verbal Reasoning (23 questions, 45 minutes) and Data Insights (20 questions, 45 minutes) — each scored on a 60–90 scale. Data Insights is the section most candidates under-prepare, and because all three sections now count equally toward the total, neglecting it caps the score directly. Tabish Tutors teaches GMAT Focus one-to-one online with adaptive-test pacing strategy and full-length mocks.
What we cover
Full GMAT coverage — nothing quietly skipped
We teach to the specification, not to a summary of it. Here is exactly what is on the table.
Quantitative Reasoning
21 questions · 45 minutes
- Problem solving: arithmetic, algebra, word problems
- Rates, work, mixtures and ratios
- Number properties and divisibility

- Strategic estimation instead of full computation
Verbal Reasoning
23 questions · 45 minutes
- Reading comprehension: structure and inference
- Critical reasoning: assumption, strengthen, weaken, flaw
- Argument mapping as a written method
- Trap-answer patterns and how they are built
Data Insights
20 questions · 45 minutes
- Data sufficiency
- Multi-source reasoning
- Table analysis
- Graphics interpretation
- Two-part analysis

- How question-level adaptivity rewards early accuracy

Diagnosis first
GMAT marks slip for a small number of fixable reasons
We find which one it is in the first session, then teach against it. Vague effort does not move a score; a named cause does.
Data Insights is treated as optional
In the Focus Edition all three sections weigh equally. A candidate strong in Quant and Verbal who ignores Data Insights loses a full third of the available score.
Quant is done the long way
GMAT quant rewards estimation and number sense. Candidates who compute everything in full run out of time in the last eight questions, every time.
Critical reasoning is read, not mapped
Arguments read once and answered on instinct produce inconsistent results. Written premise-conclusion mapping makes the answer choice mechanical.
Mocks are taken without review
A mock is only worth the two hours of review that follow it. Candidates who take ten mocks and review none plateau exactly where they started.

How it works
From first message to first lesson
Four steps, no directory to sort through, no commitment before the demo.
Tell us about the student
Curriculum, board, current grade, target grade, and the topics actually causing trouble. Two minutes on WhatsApp is usually enough.
We match the tutor
We hand-pick one specialist for your exact specification. You are not sent a directory to sort through — the match is our job.
Free trial lesson
A real teaching session with the tutor who would teach the course. No payment, no card details, no commitment.
Lessons and weekly reports
The same tutor every week, a written plan, and a progress report to the parent so nobody is guessing whether it is working.
Who teaches it
Faculty for GMAT Focus Edition
You are matched to one of these specialists — and you keep them.
Every enquiry reaches the academic team first. They read what the student is actually stuck on, identify the exact board and paper, and match a subject specialist who teaches that syllabus week in and week out — not the next tutor on a list. The team sets the study plan, reviews progress reports before they are sent, and steps in to reassign a tutor if the match is not right after the first lesson. They also answer the WhatsApp line during teaching hours.
Ayesha has coached students into universities across the United States, Canada and the UK. She teaches the Digital SAT and the shortened GRE with a focus on the adaptive structure of both tests, and marks every Analytical Writing essay herself.

GMAT Focus Edition, up from 585
“I was ignoring Data Insights completely because my old GMAT material barely mentioned it. Once that was fixed my score moved from 585 to 685. Straightforward, no drama, no upselling.”
Questions parents ask
GMAT — frequently asked questions
Most business schools now accept both. GMAT Focus suits candidates strong in data reasoning and business logic; GRE suits candidates stronger in vocabulary and academic writing. We look at a baseline of both before you commit — it is a 90-minute decision that can save three months.
For a working professional, 10 to 14 weeks at 8–12 hours per week is realistic for a meaningful score gain. Shorter is possible only if the baseline is already close to target.
GMAC allows multiple attempts within published annual and lifetime limits, with a waiting period between attempts. Check the current policy on mba.com before you book, as the limits are periodically revised.
Our writing services team supports personal statements, essays and CV editing for MBA applications. See the Writing Services page or ask on WhatsApp.
